Third Consultation for the SEASOFIA 2022 publication organized

SEAFDEC Secretariat organized the Third Inter-Departmental Consultation for Finalization of the draft SEASOFIA 2022 through the online platform on 18 and 20 October 2021. The Consultation was attended by the SEAFDEC Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General, senior officials of the SEAFDEC Secretariat, and officers of the Secretariat and Departments, namely: TD, MFRD, AQD, MFRDMD, and IFRDMD who serve as contact persons or involved in the preparation of the publication “Southeast Asian State of Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022” or SEASOFIA 2022. During the Consultation, the participants provided comments and suggestions to the inputs for SEASOFIA 2022 to make sure that the publication would cover important aspects on the status and trends as well as the issues and challenges in fisheries and aquaculture. Moreover, the Consultation agreed that the progress made by the countries in the region, SEAFDEC, and other organizations in addressing the issues and challenges should be also included in the publication. The final draft of SEASOFIA 2022 publication would be submitted to the 44^th Meeting of the SEAFDEC Program Committee in November 2021 and the final publication would be available by the 54th Meeting of the SEAFDEC Council in 2022.
