SEAFDEC pays courtesy call to Thai Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam

The SEAFDEC Secretary-General, Ms. Malinee Sminthrithee, paid a courtesy call to the Ambassador of Thailand, Her Excellency Boosara Kanchanalai, and officials at the Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam on 9 June 2023. On this occasion, SEAFDEC and the Thai Embassy exchanged information on the investment and trade opportunities between Thailand and Brunei Darussalam, especially in agriculture and fisheries. Moreover, Ms. Malinee informed the Thai Embassy officials of SEAFDEC works that support the ASEAN Member States in several areas of fisheries management, particularly the regional efforts to combat IUU fishing in Southeast Asia.

The courtesy call to the Thai Embassy was a side activity of SEAFDEC after Ms. Malinee served as the Keynote Speaker during the Sustaining Marine Biodiversity through Blue Economy Symposium organized on 6–8 June 2023 at the University Brunei Darussalam.
