SEAFDEC Inter-Departmental Workshop virtually organized to gather views on the conduct of the Study on Impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Fisheries Sector of ASEAN-SEAFDEC Member Countries

The SEAFDEC Inter-Departmental Workshop to gather views on the conduct of the Study on Impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Fisheries Sector of ASEAN-SEAFDEC Member Countries was organized by the SEAFDEC Secretariat through the Google Meet on 7 October 2020. This was aimed at compiling the views from the SEAFDEC Departments on the draft questionnaires prepared by the SEAFDEC Secretariat on the impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Fisheries Sector of ASEAN-SEAFDEC Member Countries. Attended by the SEAFDEC Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General, senior officials, and Technical Officers from TD, MFRD, AQD, MFRDMD, and IFRDMD, the Workshop finalized the workplan and timeframe of the Study on Impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Fisheries Sector of Southeast Asian Region.

After the Workshop, the Study Team from the SEAFDEC Secretariat was tasked to improve the questionnaire based on the views and feedbacks from the Departments, which were used as inputs for the Concept Note of the Study on Impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Fisheries Sector of ASEAN-SEAFDEC Member Countries. The Concept Note submitted to the 43^rd Meeting of SEAFDEC Program Committee during 10-12 November 2020 and the 23^rd Meeting of Fisheries Consultative Group of the ASEAN-SEAFDEC Strategic Partnership (FCG/ASSP) on 17-18 November 2020.
