SEAFDEC shares information on COVID-19 impacts to fisheries and aquaculture in Southeast Asia at ASSOCHAM Webinar

SEAFDEC Policy and Program Coordinator, Dr. Worawit Wanchana, served as one of the speakers during the “National Webinar on Fisheries and Aquaculture Industry in COVID Times: Challenges and a Roadmap Ahead” which was hosted by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) on 16 July 2020 in India. During the Webinar, Dr. Worawit shared the highlights  of the “SEAFDEC Webinar on Impact of COVID-19 on Fisheries and Aquaculture in Southeast Asia” which was organized on 2-3 July 2020 in Thailand, particularly the impacts of the pandemic such as decreasing exportation of fish and fisheries products from the region to international markets, declining price of several fish food, lessening fishing pressure from commercial fishing activities as well as intensifying usage of advanced technologies for monitoring, control, and surveillance of fishing activities at sea.
