SEAFDEC Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center
The “Workshop on Writing Articles for Fish for the People” was organized by the SEAFDEC Secretariat on 28 March 2025 and 6 May 2025 at the SEAFDEC Training Department to improve the writing skills of technical and information staff from the SEAFDEC Training Department. The Workshop was attended by the SEAFDEC Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General, senior officials, and technical and information staff from the SEAFDEC Secretariat and Training Department.
The topics of the Workshop include practical tools, guides, and tips for writing ethical and impactful articles for Fish for the People, which were delivered by the Technical Writer/Editor from the SEAFDEC Secretariat, Dr. Shiela Villamor Chumchuen, as the resource person. Furthermore, the use of the reference management software, Zotero, was demonstrated to the participants for proper formatting of citations and references. In addition, the participants also learned how to write outstanding news articles for the SEAFDEC Newsletter.
Supported by the Japanese Trust Fund, the Special Publication of SEAFDEC “Fish for the People” features technical articles on the achievements of SEAFDEC projects and activities to promote sustainable development and management of fisheries and aquaculture in the Southeast Asian region.
