SEAFDEC Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center
On 21 September 2026, Ms. Sampan Panjarat, SEAFDEC Secretary-General and concurrently Chief of the Training Department, attended the ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Department of Fisheries (DOF) of Thailand in Bangkok.
Ms. Sampan had the honor of joining the reception for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who graciously presided over the opening ceremony, and receiving a commemorative pin bestowed by Her Royal Highness.
The centennial celebration highlights the DOF’s contributions to fisheries development over the past century through exhibitions showcasing its achievements in fisheries research, aquaculture, resource management, innovation, and food security.
SEAFDEC extends its warm congratulations to the DOF Thailand on this significant milestone. On this occasion, SEAFDEC also showcased its publications and looks forward to continued cooperation in promoting sustainable fisheries and aquaculture development in Southeast Asia.
