SEAFDEC Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center
The SEAFDEC Secretary-General, Ms. Sampan Panjarat, accompanied by the Policy and Program Coordinator, attended the 11th Meeting of the Regional Fishery Body Secretariats’ Network (RSN-11), held on 4–5 September 2026 at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
The meeting provided an opportunity for leaders of the Regional Fisheries Bodies (RFBs) to exchange information and updates on key developments, activities, and emerging issues related to regional fisheries governance and cooperation, including PSMA, GIES and Voluntary Guidelines on Transshipment, CITES, BBNJ Agreement, climate change, among others.
During the meeting, the SEAFDEC Secretary-General expressed appreciation to the FAO for technical support on various subjects. She also shared information on SEAFDEC’s activities undertaken in collaboration with FAO and highlighted opportunities to further strengthen cooperation with FAO and other partners, particularly in the area of capacity building of common interest.
