SEAFDEC Secretary-General Dr. Suttinee Limthammahisorn, accompanied by Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Koichi Tahara and staff from the Japanese Trust Fund, paid a courtesy call to the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries and SEAFDEC Council Director for Thailand Mr. Bancha Sukkaew, together with the Deputy Director-General Mr. Prathet Sorrak and the Director of the Fisheries Foreign Affairs Division Mr. Choltisak Chawpaknum, at the Department of Fisheries (DOF) Thailand. The visit served as a formal introduction of Mr. Tahara, who assumed the position of SEAFDEC Deputy Secretary-General and Deputy Chief of the SEAFDEC Training Department on 1 June 2025. During the courtesy call, discussions took place regarding the present and future collaborative directions between SEAFDEC and DOF Thailand focusing on advancing sustainable fisheries development in the Southeast Asian region particularly in Thailand as the host government of the Training Department.
