SEAFDEC Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center
The SEAFDEC Secretariat organized the “Second Inter-Departmental Workshop on the Preparation of Southeast Asian State of Fisheries and Aquaculture 2027 (SEASOFIA 2027)” on 22–23 September 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Workshop was attended by the SEAFDEC Secretary-General, the Deputy Secretary-General, the MFRD Chief, the Focal Persons responsible for coordinating and preparing inputs for the publication from SEAFDEC Departments, and relevant officers of the SEAFDEC Secretariat and Departments.
The Workshop reviewed and discussed the draft SEASOFIA 2027, which was collaboratively prepared by the SEAFDEC Secretariat and Departments based on the agreed outline developed during the First Inter-Departmental Workshop in 2025. The discussions provided an important platform for exchanging technical views, identifying areas for improvement, and enhancing the publication’s quality, accuracy, and technical consistency. During the final session, the participants also agreed on the workplan and timeline for revising and finalizing the draft content, with a view to completing the final draft publication for submission to the 49th Meeting of the SEAFDEC Program Committee.
