SEAFDEC Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center
The SEAFDEC Department Chiefs’ Meeting was convened in Langkawi, Malaysia, on 8 November 2025. The Meeting was attended by the SEAFDEC Secretary-General, Ms. Sampan Panjarat, the Deputy Secretary-General, SEAFDEC Department Chiefs, Deputy Chiefs, together with senior officials from the Secretariat and Departments. The Meeting discussed the updates on the actions taken and to be undertaken by the Departments in response to the recommendations from the 57th Meeting of the SEAFDEC Council, the 48th Meeting of the SEAFDEC Program Committee, and the 28th Meeting of the Fisheries Consultative Group of the ASEAN-SEAFDEC Strategic Partnership.
On information-related matters, the Meeting took note of the results of the 26th Meeting of the SEAFDEC Information Staff Program held in October 2025 and discussed the workplan and timeline for the preparation of upcoming SEAFDEC materials in 2026, including the Southeast Asian State of Fisheries and Aquaculture (SEASOFIA) 2027. Additionally, the Meeting discussed the preparations for the 60th SEAFDEC Anniversary scheduled to be held in 2027, as well as the preparations for the 58th Meeting of the SEAFDEC Council in 2026.
