In-house Training Gender Awareness and Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries

The In-house training on Gender Awareness and Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries were conducted at SEAFDEC secretariat on 21 April 2017 to train five (5) Regional Fisheries Program Networking(RFPN) from different country, namely: Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippine, Viet Nam and Thai and also Five (5) new SEAFDEC’ staffs. The aimed of SEAFDEC to organize a training workshop on gender awareness and mainstreaming, to support all staff and its partner agencies to ensure their better understanding and awareness on gender aspects and know how to mainstream it into fisheries sector, specifically throughout the project cycle. This workshop will help the participants understand clearly what gender is, and always include gender analysis in their tools to use in analyzing the situation/problem at the program, identifying measures to address the gender issues and problems, ensuring the program have sufficient resources and condition to implement the gender action plans with a clear gender indicators.
